Rally for a Green Future 4-24-19

I’ll be one of the speakers at the Rally for a Green Future on Friday evening in Media, and I hope to see you there. (And I may even sing for you. Really!) The rally is all about the environment, and Mariner East is part of that. Even apart from the risks posed by the pipeline itself, there are environmental problems from start to finish. It begins with fracking (which is the source of the highly-volatile liquids), it contributes to climate change (from the burning of the fracked natural gas), and it ultimately results in ocean pollution (that’s where much of the plastic produced from these liquids ends up).

Here are some rally details:

Environmental groups from the area are joining together to demand responsible and immediate action on climate change, clean water, and pipeline safety.

We will be meeting at Media Borough Hall, 301 N. Jackson St. Media, PA at 6pm on April 26, and marching through Media to the courthouse.  Speakers will start around 7pm.  Participating groups include Sierra Club, Del-Chesco United for Pipeline Safety, Sunrise Movement, PennEnvironment, Delco PA Indivisible, Faith Alliance for Pipeline Safety, Send the Lorax to DC, and more.  Event is rain or shine.

See you there!
